Join us as we discuss the energy transition with Chris Leslie, the Executive Chairman of Macquarie Asset Management (“MAM”) Real Assets Americas and Senior Managing Director in the Green Investment Group. The MAM Real Assets division manages over $A144 billion of equity across its infrastructure, green investments, and natural assets platforms. Chris will share his views on the energy transition, what solutions exist beyond wind and solar, and what this could mean for your investment portfolio.

Chris is Executive Chairman MAM Real Assets in the Americas and a Senior Managing Director in the Green Investment Group where he focuses his time on the Macquarie GIG Energy Transition Solutions (MGETS) fund. Chris is a member of the Investment Committee of MGETS as well as the Investment Committees of Macquarie GIG Renewable Energy Fund and Macquarie Infrastructure Partners (MIP).

 

Chris joined Macquarie Group in 1992 and served as Chief Executive Officer of MIP from 2005 to 2016. In this role, he managed Macquarie’s regional private North American infrastructure platform and was integral to raising and investing approximately US$9 billion in North American infrastructure. During his tenure as CEO of MIP, Chris led a number of landmark transactions including the US$8B take-private of Puget Energy (2009), the $5B take-private of Cleco Corporation (2016) and the US$4.8B sale of Global Tower Partners (2014). 

 

Following his role as CEO of MIP, Chris was the Global Head of Sustainability for MAM from 2018 to 2022. During this time, he was instrumental in expanding MAM’s activities and commitments to sustainability, including MAM’s Net Zero 2040 commitment. 

 

Chris has been involved in the establishment of Macquarie’s infrastructure businesses in Perth, Singapore, Mumbai and New York. Chris is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (honours) from the University of Melbourne. He lives in New York City.

Regarding Parking

- The closest parking garage to the OSU Portland Center is the Alder Street Garage (Entrance on Alder between Broadway and 6th Ave - Address: 615 SW Alder St, Portland, OR 97204). Other recommended parking garages can be located here: https://portland.oregonstate.edu. 

- The entrance to the OSU Portland Center is in the historic Meier & Frank building, on the same block as The Nines Hotel. Please take the elevators from the lobby to the second floor. 

- Security in the lobby, but the main elevators will be unlocked for the PAIA event and a passkey is not needed for access to the second floor during the event time.
