Event Details
Registration opens at 4:30 PM allowing time for networking, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres. Followed by a presentation about our state’s everchanging supply of capital as measured by the Oregon Capital Scan, and an engaging panel and Q&A featuring prominent allocators and equity investors. The discussion will explore the opportunities and challenges facing Oregon and the Pacific Northwest’s cash flow landscape from a macroeconomic perspective. Afterwards, feel free to stay behind, enjoy a drink and network as we have the space until 7:30 PM.
Oregon Capital Scan
The Oregon Capital Scan is a comprehensive report that identifies and analyzes sources of capital available in Oregon. It provides insights into the landscape of funding for entrepreneurs and businesses, highlighting gaps and opportunities within the state’s capital ecosystem. The Scan is particularly focused on supporting underserved and underrepresented communities, aiming to promote equitable access to financial resources. The study is produced collaboratively by the Oregon Community Foundation, the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business, the Institute for Policy Research & Engagement, Business Oregon, and other key partners in the nonprofit, private, and public sectors.
Panelists
Alline Akintore
Alline serves on the Oregon Investment Council and is a Partner at the Oregon Venture Fund. Alline offers a unique perspective as she invests in local early-stage entrepreneurs while also overseeing the Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund. Prior to these roles, Alline participated as a venture fellow with January Ventures, served as a World Economic Forum fellow, as an engineer with GE, and as COO of RwandaOnline.
J.D. Hall
J.D. is a member of Stepstone’s private equity team, focusing on venture capital and growth equity. Prior to StepStone, J.D. was a vice president with Greenspring Associates, a venture capital and growth equity investment firm that merged with StepStone in 2021. Before that, he worked as director of global consultant relations at Aberdeen Standard Investments.
Jim Kim
Jim is a founding member and General Partner at Builders VC, where he enjoys partnering with entrepreneurs, working on really big ideas, and solving impossible problems. Prior to Builders, Jim founded Formation 8 and served as a General Partner at Khosla Ventures and as a Senior Partner at CMEA Capital. As a proud member of the Timbers Army, Jim hopes to see the U.S. Soccer team win a World Cup in his lifetime.
Alexander Falk, Panel Moderator
Alex is a PAIA Board Member and Senior Vice President in the Product Specialist group at CAIS. In this role, he oversees the ongoing management and new business development across the firm’s wealth management clients. Prior to CAIS, Mr. Falk was a Senior Advisor Consultant at Lord Abbett.

Parking
Please be aware that non-MAC member event guest parking is no longer permitted in the MAC member garage and event parking is not guaranteed. Event guest parking is available in the parking garage on 20th Avenue adjacent to MAC for a fee of $15 per car; please see the map above for reference. Apart from the parking garage, there is street parking that guests can make use of in the surrounding area.
