Event Details

Registration opens at 4:30 PM allowing time for networking, cocktails and plenty of hors d’oeuvres over the next hour. Afterwards we will have a presentation and audience questions taking place from 5:30-7:00 PM with additional time to mingle until 7:30 PM.

Panelists

Damon Runberg

Damon is the State Economist at Business Oregon. He supports the statewide economic development goals by tracking and analyzing economic indicators critical to Oregon’s workers and businesses. He also evaluates the effectiveness of Oregon’s economic development strategies and incentives. Prior to working with Business Oregon, Damon was the Regional Economist with the Oregon Employment Department for the East Cascades of Oregon for nearly 12 years. Damon has a BA in Political Science and Environmental History from Gonzaga University as well as a Master of Public Policy from Oregon State University.

Elmer Huh, CFA, FRM

Elmer is the Chief Investment Officer at the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. He leads the investment team and works with the Trustees in managing the Trust’s investment portfolio. Previously he was in various capital markets roles at EY Capital Advisors, Lehman Brothers, and Morgan Stanley. Elmer serves on the advisory committees of several alternative investment funds. He also serves on the board of several nonprofits and other organizations focused on strategy, sustainability, and leadership development. Elmer earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering (Honors), an MS in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research, and an MBA in International Finance and Accounting from Columbia University.

T.J. McConville

T.J. is the Chief Investment Officer at Becker Capital Management. He is responsible for overseeing the firm’s investment strategy and process. He serves on Becker Capital’s Investment Committee, Asset Allocation Committee, Multi-Asset Committee, and Impact Advisory Board. T.J.’s 20-years of experience in capital markets include the development, implementation, and oversight of investment strategies for individuals, endowments, foundations, pension plans, and other nonprofit assets. Prior to joining Becker Capital Management in 2013, T.J. served as an Equity Analyst at Raymond James & Associates in St. Petersburg, Florida where he covered Consumer Hardlines companies. T.J earned a BS in Economics from Florida Southern College as well as an MBA from the University of Florida.

Ricardo Lopez

Ricardo is Business Oregon’s Investment Strategist and Oregon Growth Board Director. He manages return-driven and impact-oriented private market portfolios for the State. The goals of the portfolios include earning high returns for public education programs while fostering economic development, supporting underserved communities, and filling capital gaps across the State. Prior to joining Business Oregon, Ricardo worked for the State Treasury and for investment consulting firm, RVK. Ricardo is a CAIA charter holder and earned a BBA degree in Finance as well as an MS in Finance from the University of Portland. Ricardo was named as one of Portland Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 in 2022.

Event Guest Parking 

Event guest parking is generally not permitted in MAC’s member garage. Limited guest parking may be available in the Portland Towers apartments garage located on SW 20th Avenue, across the street from the west end of MAC. There is an event guest parking fee of $10 per vehicle, which can be paid at the kiosk located near the entrance of the garage (six-foot vehicle height limit). If the Portland Tower garage is full, street parking is available in the immediate vicinity. Event guests are encouraged to take alternative transportation to the club via TriMet or ride-sharing services, or they can utilize the bike racks located in the club’s Turnaround on SW Salmon Street.
